Magic Barclay:

Welcome back to a magical life. I'm your host magic Barclay today. I'm joined by a young man Locklin dun, and I'm gonna read his words for his bio. It's a great bio. And so, like I said, in his own words, here we go. He says my journey has been a roller coaster of a ride. I grew up in the very chaotic and violent Western suburbs of Sydney. Growing up life was always so high tense, high stress inside and outside of the home, being a kid that roamed the streets and was out all the time. I was interacting with a lot of very interesting people from drug addicts and their kids, Samoans and Tongans and gangs and broken violent families. And because I didn't know how to defend myself was generally targeted for that weakness, especially by my next door neighbor, who was actually one of the best teachers. In retrospect, this pushed me into mixed martial arts and combat sports around the age of 16 to 17. I fell deeply in love with this and dedicated myself to becoming the best MMA athlete I could become, which required me to understand all about the shadow, mind, body, and spirit and health optimization in bio harmonizing and using tools like float tanks, cold plunges, saunas, grounding, mats, breathwork healthy light tech, which I also continue to study and explore today through my exploration into health and integrating all that I've learned. I've brought many symptoms or healing responses back into balance. Like my breathing mechanics, sleep apnea and sleep quality, massively improved my digestive health, cured sugar addiction, and began deeply healing family relationships and rehabilitating myself psychologically from all my misperceptions of events. Improving the quality of my health is also what sparked my spiritual awakening. As it liberated so much consciousness for me to use and move on up to higher levels of consciousness. At the moment, I am deeply inspired. 22 years young holistic health coach podcaster and pod coach creator. And on a mission to revolutionize agriculture and educate people about agriculture and holistic health in a comprehensive whole and balanced way. I primarily do this through my three podcasts, transcendent, explorations, health, and wellness, and shit and heart of the matrix with Marcus bird. Oh my goodness. Locklin Hey, lie down after that bio, but how fantastic are you?

Lachlan Dunn:

Thank you so much. Thank you. It's really so different to hear it red by someone else while it was really taking me back through that whole experience. So thank.

Magic Barclay:

Pleasure. You've cramed a lot into 22 years.

Lachlan Dunn:

I've had quite a lot of life experience. Yes. It's been a dense, a dense 22 years. I have been through quite a lot and that's only a shallow buyer, you know, I could, we could pull up a chair and sit down for hours and have a very long and deep conversation about everything.

Magic Barclay:

I bet we could now look, when I was reading through your bio and wanted to give this podcast heading, I pulled out what is shadow work, and I'm glad you mentioned it. So can you just tell the listeners what is shadow work?

Lachlan Dunn:

Yeah, so the shadow is primarily referring to what we are unconscious of. So it's metaphorically. This. Bag that we carry over our shoulders. That's full of the things that we say we are not now, our shadow is created just by the process of growing up and being a human being. You have well-meaning parents and society that tell you, and kind of shared things with you that orient you in a way to cut aspects of yourself. Now, we can't actually completely cut off aspects of ourself. They have to go somewhere. They don't just disappear. So they go into the shadow, they go into the unconscious and so shadow work is really all about becoming more. It's about the quality of our integrity. It's about reintegrating, these aspects that we've cut off from ourselves and bringing them back into the light, bringing them back into consciousness so we can show up as more whole loving beings and have more open and deeper connections to people. Because a lot of the reason why we have relationship issues or why we judge so much is because we have so much baggage it's because we've cut those aspects off from ourselves. What we judge is others is something that we have not yet learned to love inside of ourselves. What we. You know, there's a very good saying in when you're pointing and judging things in others, there are three fingers pointing back, meaning you contain those aspects, those qualities, those traits, whether that's physical or nonphysical, it's just that you haven't brought them into light yet you haven't accepted those qualities. You Haven' issue with, with those and a dissonance with those. But when we love those aspects, and this was actually something that unfolded through my relationship and my healing journey with my mom was a lot of the reason why I cut myself off from my mom. And we had a, a disconnection was because I was denying and judging and repressing all of the aspects that she highlighted, that she demonstrated that I couldn't accept inside of myself. The last thing I wanted to do was accept the qualities and traits that my mom was expressing when in fact, that was really just an opportunity for me to integrate those and become more. There's another perspective that I'll quickly share that shadow work is also about taking things from third person to first person. So shadow work is we generally notice the shadow when we talk about things in third person that it's so out there that it's no longer me, you know, like we can repress anger to the point that I deny that I'm angry, but I'm living in an angry world and people reflect anger back at me. So that's a third person it's out there. It's in the environment. There's a regression of taking that to second person looking at it, just accepting the fact that you have that. And then there's the bringing it back into the first person and owning that completely accepting and integrating that aspect of your, of yourself. So you can become more whole, so that's yeah, the essence of, uh, shadow work.

Magic Barclay:

I absolutely love that explanation. Thank you so much.

Lachlan Dunn:

No worries.

Magic Barclay:

Now Locklin. I always ask the same three questions of all my guests. And the reason I do that is because the array of answers I get are always so fascinating and interesting and diverse. So my first question is what can your expertise do to accelerate health? Be it physical, emotional, spiritual, or.

Lachlan Dunn:

Yeah, I love this question first. If I could please give you my definition of health. I think this is so important and I'm sure you talk obviously to a lot of people. Um, and there's so many health coaches and health educators and everything out there, but I just rarely hear people actually define health. What they actually mean about health. Now, one of the perspectives that I love to take on health is that health is to a human being, what soil is to a plant. And so the, the plant's whole life is dependent upon the quality of the soil. It's whole life is built upon the soil and the same thing goes for our health. You know, our whole life is built upon the quality of our health. And if we don't have quality, health, obviously we have, poor quality life. But to continue with that analogy with health being like soil to a plant, there are certain elements and parts and components that make up that soil. And this is where I, my expertise comes in and that I am all about. Tripling quadrupling down on the basics on the simple foundational principles, we cannot neglect these. This is like, again, the soil that you build your whole life upon. So what are those basic elements that I would say make up the very foundation of our health? If we took a modernized, domesticated, human being, put it back in its natural environment, given it survives? What would we see the natural functions that it remembers that re arise? So this gets into the seven. What I would call that seven necessary basics that are gonna apply into your mental, emotional, spiritual health. This is at the very foundational we started kind of this biological, uh, level. We would see that the human would begin to sync up with the circadian cycles would be in sync with the light and dark cycles. So it's, Syncing up with its environment that would lead to high quality sleep. There would be no interruption from artificial lighting, either electromagnetic, radiation, stimulants, uh, phones, tech and all that stuff. Nasal breathing would rear arise as a natural function of how we, our physiology is designed to breathe. You'd be breathing higher quality oxygen, and you'd probably be more tolerant to carbon dioxide, which is a key nutrient and definitely not a waste gas. It would be moving constantly movements. Uh, it would be gravitated towards the highest quality food in nutrition. And if it was really tapped in. Like every other animal on this planet, it would be gravitated to the highest quality source of water from Springs. So I'm all about focusing on these basics, starting with these, when you're entering in health, you know, just looking at those seven necessary basics, being nature, and they all arise out of nature, circadian rhythms, sleep, breathing, movement, nutrition, and hydration. So I hope that answers your question

Magic Barclay:

it certainly does. And I have to say listeners, I've just gotten back from two days in the country. Mm. Next to a natural water source, which is clean out in the Bush with all the animals. And apart from my extreme sunburn. I am on top of the world and walking barefoot grounding the whole time. That's it breathing in the essential oils from overnight. So Locklin's Australian. So he knows that overnight here, the temperature drops. And so the trees really release their oils. That's why first thing in the morning, you can just smell such an abundance from the trees. So breathing that in, you know, all the natural earthing opportunities. It was fantastic. And I was up at 5:00 AM when the sun came up and going to bed at nine o'clock after we sat around the campfire after darkness for about half an hour. And honestly, If you haven't gotten into nature in the past two months, please go and do that listeners. Please do it for

Lachlan Dunn:

yourself. Yes. You know, a, a great way to, um, because a lot of people have circadian rhythm disruption. They have what we'd call social jet lag. So they basically have this chronic jet lag from just being out of sync with their own natural environment. It doesn't take long for us to sync up our circadian rhythm at all, which is really like a big chunk of this foundation. If you sync up your circadian rhythm, bring this song back into harmony, then everything else begins to have this very positive momentum in moving back into congruence, as it should be. It's it's natural balance. Just go camping for two days and make sure that you watch the sun rise because that's gonna cue your body in what time it is and what things need to be released and what organ processes need to happen. And cellular functions and detoxification pathways and microbiome movement like. Everything in your body has a circadian clock in that it's dictated upon timing of things, which the sun is like your clock that's guiding your body. And an interesting note is no matter what happens, even if you don't see the sun, it is moving inside of yourself. So we wanna match it up. We wanna sync up. So by watching the sunrise, not looking directly at the sun, we wanna look just up about 25 degrees off of it. So we can still get the light that shines in and gets to the master clock within the brain known as the super charismatic So it's through the eyes, but our skin is also like a giant solar panel. It's also like a giant eye to some degree. So we wanna expose as much of our skin to the sunlight, but yes, going camping. Great way to bring your, uh, physiology back into sync with the environment very quickly.

Magic Barclay:

And that's kind of funny cuz as we started driving back home and we live in the country, so not in the city itself, but outside there mm-hmm I started sneezing again, rubbing my eyes. I'm like, wow. I just got radiated by all the towers. I just drove past

Lachlan Dunn:

literally. Yeah. Crazy. Yeah. yeah. That's a good example right there. And I've had plenty of like, that's a, that's such a massive talk that most people don't talk about. Cause they can't see it. They can't smell it. They can't generally hear it. They can't taste it. Most people can't feel it or don't recognize the healing responses that take place when, um, being drowned in electromagnetic radiation from all sorts of cell towers and wifis and phones and everything. But yeah, like that's uh, a great point that you make for sure.

Magic Barclay:

And just on this, like. No listeners, I'm not a tenfold hat wearer but I do need to tell you I live right near some 5g towers. Mm. And I have the worst phone quality. I don't think I've actually finished a phone call for the past six months. And yet when I was up in the country, no towers, guess what? I could connect to home and ring and check on how everyone's going and no problems with my phone calls. So if you think this is about your connection yeah. Or your speed,

Lachlan Dunn:

it's not it's, it's not, I'll give you a real example of my own personal experience with sleeping near cell towers. Uh, so when I stayed at my father's for like a few months, because I couldn't sleep there eventually, because I, I was aware that there was a cell tower within a kilometer, obvious home. You could see it, you look at them and you see big, giant ugly. Toxic mushroom looking thing of the transmitters, um, and being someone who's super healthy. So, um, you know, once you begin to clean up your health, you feel in into more things, you tap into that spiritual abilities and your CLE S and uh, your ability to feel things and sense the more subtle realms. Um, for me, the only way I can describe it is that one there's a constant buzzing going on all the time. And two, it feels like your blood's boiling. Like, it's really just this, this electrification of, of some sort. And, uh, you know, there is plenty of plenty of science. I mean, I had send you a hundred articles and, and studies, um, highlighting, uh, electromagnetic radiation and its influence on mitochondria and cells and how it's cooking. And frying ourselves. It's called micro waves. It's basically the same as what you do when you put food in your microwave oven, when you are sitting in the presence of wifi, when you're holding your phone to your head, when you've got your AirPods in, when you've got your laptop on your lap, when you're near a cell tower, you're frying yourselves. And this is actually a big reason. I think why people are so stressed out one, but psychologically they can't actually think because the underlying physiology is aying, it's categorizing, it's breaking down because they've got, they're just drowning in electromagnetic radiation, which essentially is like putting yourself inside of an oven, turning it on and just hooking yourself. Like I know that might sound a little to some people, but that's like real the, the honest truth, at least from my perspective and all the research that I've into this it's just crooked us.

Magic Barclay:

And isn't it funny, sorry, listeners. We're very off track here, but this is important for you to hear. Yes. So isn't it funny, you know, before 2020, it was all 5g is coming all the ads on TV, certainly by big phone companies here, mm-hmm, you know, 5g is gonna give you faster speed and you know, even Nana can connect on the phone and you know, all this kind of stuff. And since what's happened in the past two years, we're not hearing about that anymore.

Lachlan Dunn:

No, you're not, there is, um, a really good book if people actually wanna see the correlation to electricity and electromagnetic radiation, uh, there's an amazing book by Arthur Stenberg. It's called the history of electricity and life and he has direct, and now they're only correlations, but they're pretty accurate. And like, well, sounding correlations that every time they went all the way back to like even the native Indians and when they were putting just electricity lines through the forest, that the native Americans were developing all sorts of symptoms, illness, and diseases, uh, they then found, um, similar thing happened when they began to, you know, submarines began to use navigation systems and different things underwater. And we were putting, um, like cell, basically cell towers underwater for communication, that dolphins started committing suicide whale, or that's why they beached themselves. Um, because it's like a similar thing that we are. Outside on the land, that's happening underwater as well. Uh, but every time that we put up satellites, there was a direct correlation to viruses in the common cold, and all the other viruses that have played out, you know, a virology is something I question in and of itself, but let's say it's true in this scenario, you know, there was a direct correlation with every time. There was a bunch of satellites that were released, which are producing electromagnetic radiation to connect your internet and connect things, uh, that there were. Direct correlations to specific viral infections, uh, breaking out, uh, among people. So that's a really good book. There's loads and loads and loads of information in there. Um, especially on wildlife as well. You know, another thing that's just popping up is, uh, they found that I can't remember what bur like stalks, I believe they were, that were made. Um, there was a, a pair of stalks that were within one kilometer of a, of a cell tower rather than ma mating during that the mating season they're actually fighting and they're actually going against each other. And this is male and females supposedly like pairs of stalks. And so there's also all these psychological conditions correlated to it as well. So they're just a few examples, um, that people can go and see themselves and look up and do their own research.

Magic Barclay:

That's some great info. Okay. Let's get back on track here. That's that's so we talk about wealth here, not just the financial, but the emotional and spiritual wealth of a person, cuz they're all linked in together. You can't make money unless you believe in yourself, for example. So what's what are some top tips that you've got for people to build their wealth?

Lachlan Dunn:

Yeah. You know, I think a simple one is just loving ones, self unconditionally. I think you can only transform, like you have to love something for what it is. Then you can transform it. I think love is magic like that. So if we want to transform our financial life, our relationships, our relationships being a big one, which obviously tie into like business and everything, because we can only connect to people to the degree that we've connected to ourselves. We can only open up and see people to, to the degree that we open up and see ourselves. We can only love people to the degree that we love ourselves. And we also deserve to love ourselves no matter what you have done and not done, we all deserve to give ourselves unconditional love, not unconditional love in our love you when I love you. If I love you, but I love you, but you do this first. I love you, but you gotta change this habit. I love you when you're skinny. I love you when you've accomplished this. No love yourself right now for who you are unconditionally, and then we can begin to transform. So that's my, my simple answer for.

Magic Barclay:

Fantastic. And the final thing that we discuss here is weight loss or, or weight release to be more accurate. So have you ever battled your weight? Locklin mm-hmm and if so, what was a trigger to lose it? Or do you have some insights on how people can really master that journey?

Lachlan Dunn:

Yeah. So I was, I was kind of a chubby kid. Like I wasn't, I would say like a obese or anything like that. Like I definitely had like man boobs or boy boobs at the time. Um, and definitely like a lot of visceral fat, the gut. So, you know, mixed martial again, which is something that pushed me into becoming a better me and obviously a consequence of just training four hours a day, um, was losing and all the other things, of course, the circadian rhythms, the breathing and everything. Um, again, I would have to mention, like for tips, I know you're like one or two, but I would say again, the seven necessary basics. If you get all of these down and even if you just focus on one of the necessary basics, like your sleep, which is the foundation on which nutrition and exercise sit. So personally, if I had to like give people. The foundational tips to weight loss. I'm gonna be talking about circadian rhythms primarily when you eat. Not even about what you eat, cuz they've done studies and then chronobiology and shown that they've kept people on the standard Australian diet or standard American diet, the sad diet, but all they did was compress their window down from an 18 hour feeding window or more like 24 hour feeding window cuz people get up and eat during the night most of the time. So we are never giving our system a break. They compress it down to a 12 hour window and that they significantly lost more weight just by compressing down their window. So that's like on the circadian side then you have, if you're getting high quality sleep, That's like one of the biggest things that you can do for weight loss, one, it's probably the single best thing you could focus on four weight loss, honestly, just because it plays that big, a role in your emotional your nutritional decisions, your lap, and grilling your satiating and hunger hormones. I mean, everything. Literally, there's not an area of your life that sleep will not touch and influenced. So we can't neglect the quality of sleep that we get some of my primary tips and I'll, and I'll leave it at this for high quality sleep is to, like I mentioned, watch the sun rise a good night's sleep starts the morning that you wake up. So we wanna sync it up by watching the sunrise. We then wanna manage our light environment, our light hygiene. You said it perfectly when you were out, uh, in nature, all you had were fire and the stars and the and like darkness. We have a darkness deficiency. It's basically daytime 24 hours in our home. No wonder why we can't sleep and therefore lose weight because we're telling our body it's constantly daytime and disrupting that SAC ward could be 8:00 PM at night outside, but you've got your lights on. You're staring into your tech, you're signaling to your body. It's 12, at noon. So all these process of reverse melatonin is halted. So you don't get any sleep. So what we wanna opt for is candles being the most natural form of lighting to have in your home of a night, you can get salt. Lamps are great. You can pick up red to orange colored, light Globes. You know, if you want to have something on of a night and you need a little more brightness, you can get, uh, red and orange LEDs. Um, you then want to make sure that you reduce stimulus, you know, have a practice of journaling, having a bar to essential oils, massage reading, um, disengage from stimulus. And then keep your bedroom as dark as possible, ultimately. So dark, you can't see your hand in front of your face. So blackout curtains and things are key. And then my final tip, which is a big one, is for people to be breathing through their nose when they sleep. The fact that over 1 billion people have sleep apnea is alarming to me, which tells us we have forgotten how to breathe correctly. Our whole physiology has been designed for us to breathe through our nose. What's your number one nutrient. Before we talk about macronutrients and nutrition and everything else, it's oxygen. What's the number one nutrient you're using when you're sleeping or uptaking it's oxygen. So we need to be breathing through our nose who are oxygenating the body where activating the parasympathetic side of the nervous system. So we're not putting our body, our physiology in a stressed out state when we're trying to sleep. And if people struggle with breathing through their nose, something that I had to do and I still do is I put a little bit of tape across my mouth to avoid, um, my mouth from opening because I've trained myself to breathe through my mouth for 18 years, just as a consequence of poor jaw formation and malocclusion and poor tongue posture. I have to retrain that whole natural function to bring it back into balance. So there's things called my tape. There you can get out. It's like designed to put over your lips when you sleep. I like to just use a little bit of sports tape. Like literally just a little strip that you put across your lips keeps your, um, mouth closed. So you can breathe through your nose, how you were designed and really experience sleep. I never really truly experienced sleep until I had started to breathe through my nose at night. I was so surprised. I was like, this is what sleep actually feels like, like, oh my God, this is amazing. So I'll go out of the way to tape my mouth. Like if I need to put a whole thing of tape around my head, I will because the sleep is at that. Good. So yeah, there's some, my foundational tips for weight loss

Magic Barclay:

love those. And just on the mouth taping listeners, if you find that you're a little bit sensitive to the glues in tapes, just that little paper tape that they use at the pathology to stick the cotton ball on your arm, that works a treat because it, it moves so malleable. But it will keep your lips together and then you won't have a reaction to any glues or chemicals. Mm-hmm it's just really easy to use. Yeah. Yeah. And even just having that can then put that tape in your compost cuz it's paper

Lachlan Dunn:

Hey, I love it. I love it. Indeed. Now

Magic Barclay:

Locklin. How can people get hold of you?

Lachlan Dunn:

Yeah. So I'm on everything. I'm in Instagram, LinkedIn TikTok, uh, Facebook, uh, that's at Locklin dot dun that's L a C H L a N U N. And I have three podcasts.
