A listener reached out saying, "I feel bitter. I feel alone. I think everybody has a hand in what's going on." When things happen to you because of other people, it's not about you - it's about them. It's about how they see themselves in the world and the shame or guilt they feel. Self-hatred very often gets expressed as mistreatment of others.
On the flip side, how you treat others reflects how you feel about yourself. Before you make a judgement on someone, make that judgement on yourself. Embrace it, take charge and do something about it, but don't sit there as a victim. Every emotion we put out there, we need to take that look inside first.
There's no excuse to mistreat anybody because you feel bad. Are you happy, secure and loved? How about your family? What are you doing to take care of you and yours? What you put out there is reflecting what's going on in your own heart and your own mind.
